The mission of
St. Martin's Lutheran Church
is to be a community of grace and love, serving all people through worship, outreach and fellowship.
Everything went GREAT!
Thanks to Sally Clesi, Lauralie Bedminster and Kristin Clesi along with Corey as staff-in-charge, the startup was super. Forty-seven children had a ball!
We want to highlight our youth especially. It was tougher this year to get adults able to commit to the entire week and we are very thankful to those who did so much with snacks, crafts, registration and decorations.
Our entire Confirmation class for next year: (Two 7th graders and one 8th grader) took a class by themselves and have done a superb job. One of our 9th graders along with a visiting 10th grader took a class- wonderful! Two of our 10th graders brought some friends who have visited often in Confirmation and other activities--they had classes. Two of our college students had classes as well.
Tony has been the best story-teller with the story of Joseph enacted in a skit each day....he even shaved his head to give the authentic Egyptian look.
A friend of Carolyn Carlson, Rachael Sabol, brought instruments for the children each day during opening. What a big hit that was with the children!
Corey was out in the heat with some of our 6th graders helping him with the games. They all had icy cold water to keep them cool during their time outside. Way to go, guys!
Sunday, June 27 was VBS Sunday. The music of the day was from the music the children learned and the congregation got a chance to be "young again." They sang "One True God", "All That I Am" and "The Lord's Plans" (the hey hey hey song).
Several kids who are non-members of St. Martin's returned with their families to worship and were also treated to a fun slide show at the end of the service. It was great to see you guys! Monika Miura led the Sunday School with a story of Joseph's coat of many colors and the kids made their own patchwork coats with bright patterns and designs!Thank you all for another great VBS event! See you next year!
